Your Body Deserves Respect, Not Resolutions. Happy 2025, friends. It’s the time of year when social media is abuzz with “new year, new me” mantras and big resolutions to be a better person including health, relationships, money, mindset, and travel. But how helpful is it to make resolutions, and how many of us actually stick to them? According to Ohio State University, research shows that only 9 percent of Americans make resolutions that they complete, with 23 percent giving up after one week, and a whopping 43 percent quitting by the end of January. So why do these resolutions fail? A few reasons explain the major drop off in resolution achievement:
1. Unrealistic goals
If you make a super ambitious goal like, “I’m going to run 5 miles every morning” when you have barely run a mile before, you’re setting yourself up for failure. It will be easy to slip up and get frustrated when the goal is too big. Make smaller goals to combat this.
2. All-or-nothing mentality
When you make a new goal, there are going to be setbacks and that should be expected. If you don’t anticipate challenges and have a total perfection mentality, you are bound to get discouraged and give up on your resolution. Understand that perfect is not possible.
3. No plan
How are you going to get to your goal? It’s important to make a strategy to get to your endgame. Create milestones along the way to stay motivated. With a plan, it’s much easier to implement your new lifestyle change.
4. No support
Accountability is key! Share your goals with your friends, family, or a community that can keep you in check. We all need a little outside motivation sometimes.
Better yet, forget the big resolutions and self promises. You don’t need a new you, just a version of yourself that feels supported, empowered, and balanced. Rather than focusing on perfection, resolve to give your body the respect it deserves. You can ditch that “fix-it” mindset and put your sights on caring for yourself. Here are a few of our favorite ways to find zen and celebrate your marvelous self in 2025.
Orgasms galore
If you’re going to make a pledge to yourself, we suggest adding more orgasms to your everyday lifestyle. Why? Prioritizing pleasure is crucial to a less stressed, more balanced mental and physical well being. Each orgasm releases dopamine and serotonin, the hormones that make you feel happier. Full spectrum CBD
Honor your body’s needs in a way that’s natural and effective. Full spectrum CBD can help ease pain, promote relaxation, and set yourself up for good vibes. Research shows that full-spectrum CBD may offer superior benefits compared to isolate and broad spectrum types, due to the synergistic action of cannabinoids AKA the entourage effect. That’s why we use it in all of our CBD-infused lubricants.
Deeper connections
Make this year one to remember by striving for deeper connections with your partner, friends, and family members. Unplug and focus on spending quality time in which you aren’t distracted by outside noise. Focus on being present in the moment and really listening to those around you.
